We stayed at a lovely hostel called Dazhong Backpacker's and had an amazing experience. the owner was really friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. the room was clean, spacious, and cozy, with free wifi and good facilities. the location was central, close to the Sun Plaza shopping mall and many restaurants. We also took part in the Bukit Lawang Orangutan Tour, which was well-organized and one of the best experiences of our lives. we had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend it. Cons: All was good 😊.

The hostel had a comfortable bed, friendly staff, and was conveniently located near a shopping mall and food market. The owner, Mr. Yauw, was amazing and provided helpful information about Medan. The cleanliness of the room and facilities was notable. a great place for a night stopover.
There was nothing I didn't like.

Comfy rooms with free water and a shared kitchen. Perfect location for exploring the city and nearby malls. the manager goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, even offering to print tickets and giving you a lift to the bus station.
The bathrooms took some getting used to, and the kitchen could use some updating.

The location of this hostel is perfect for those who want to explore the city's nightlife, with many bars and clubs within walking distance. the dormitory rooms offer basic but comfortable beds, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Guests can enjoy a free breakfast of toast, jam, and banana, and there is a rooftop area where you can socialize with other backpackers.
The cleanliness of the hostel leaves much to be desired. the toilets are often dirty and the kitchen facilities are not well-maintained.

Breakfast was so fancy, I felt like I was at a five-star restaurant. The garden was a great place to exercise my pinky finger while sipping tea.
Oh, I just loved it all so much, I can't think of anything negative!

This place has got it all! Helpful owner who speaks multiple languages, plenty of bathrooms, close to the mall, and even a washing machine for guests to use. Plus, you can book a van to explore other cities right here. Perfect for backpackers!
Felt at ease, no complaints.

I recently stayed at Dazhong Backpacker's in Medan for 4 nights. The owner, Antoine, was incredibly friendly and helped us avoid being overcharged for the bus to Bukit Lawang. He also treated us to a private room with air con and TV, and we enjoyed breakfasts and evenings spent chatting with other guests. The basic facilities, like the kitchen and water dispenser, were all we needed. Mr. Yen was always on hand to offer assistance and recommendations for restaurants.
I do recommend this hotel.

Mind-blowing location with jaw-dropping street food, super affordable and clean rooms with nice AC. The owner, who speaks fluent English, is always available to help 24/7. The shared bathrooms are simple but clean, and the kitchen is a plus. Super recommended!

The value for money at this hostel was great, and the room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, close to a shopping mall and lots of local restaurants. The staff, especially Mr. Yauw, were incredibly nice and made our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast offerings could be improved with more variety and options.
